Naming the Passions That Clarify Your Mission
The infinite creative power of the Holy Spirit flowing in infinite ways through a finite number of charisms
Think of white light. It looks like a unified whole until it passes through a prism — and then it opens into a full band of color. The prism didn't add those colors. They were folded into the light the whole time, waiting for something to spread them out and see them.
A charism works the same way. The gift is the light. The thing that refracts one grace into a thousand unrepeatable forms is your passion — if a charism is what you've been given, your passion is where it comes alive. Two people can share the charism of writing and look nothing alike: one pours it into novels for strangers, the other writes the note that steadies a grieving friend. Same charism. Completely different color.
One Light, Every Color is the full reference for that refraction. Every one of the twenty-four charisms is opened into its types, the places it gets lived out, and page after page of the specific passions folded inside it — so you can see with your own eyes how many opportunities there are in just one gift, and color match your charisms to the passions that animate you the most.
This is a brainstorming tool, not a book you read cover to cover.
Step 1
Start with what you have. If you've taken the Charism Assessment, turn to the charisms it surfaced for you. If you haven't yet, start with the two or three names that resonate with you.
Step 2
Read for the heart-beat-faster moments. Browse each section like a room full of open doors, watching for the one or two that quicken something in you. That pull is often the Spirit at work.
Step 3
Let it narrow. Cross out what clearly isn't you. Star what quickens you. The shorter list you're left holding is the beginning of your personal mission.

A book can give you language, but it can't help you see yourself more clearly. The Charism Assessment gives you an objective, outside read on where the Holy Spirit is most likely at work in your life and winnows the list of twenty-four possible charisms into your most likely.
Take the Assessment →The five questions every Catholic should answer — identity, charisms, passion, season, and scope — as a personal guided workbook. The passion question it covers meshes perfectly with this book.
Explore Mission Clarity →Once you know which gifts you have, this is the reference that treats all twenty-four at length — what each one is, what it looks like in real life, and how to live it. Think of it like the Owner's Manual for your charisms.
Explore the Handbook →The six-session group document study on the same five questions — built for parish small groups and discipleship cohorts ready to reach mission clarity together.
