The Hope of the Gospel
Every baptized Catholic has been given charisms — real gifts of the Holy Spirit, meant to build up the Church. As the Diocese of Dallas begins the work of renewal, Bishop Burns is inviting you to discover yours.
It’s free for Catholics of the Diocese, ages 14 and up. Open through {{WINDOW_END}}.
A charism is a gift the Holy Spirit gives every baptized Catholic to build up the Church and serve the world. The Catechism is clear about it (CCC 799–801) — charisms aren’t reserved for canonized saints or people with theology degrees. They’re for ordinary Catholics living ordinary lives. Saint Paul put it this way: “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:4).
The catch is simple: you can’t put a gift to work until you know you have it.
In The Hope of the Gospel, Bishop Burns calls every one of us to share in the responsibility for the mission of the Church. Renewal takes the gifts of the whole Body of Christ — including yours.
In about 20 to 25 minutes, you’ll see the charisms you’re most likely to have, along with a personalized report with next steps for discerning them further. Your results also help your parish and the Diocese invite you into the work of renewal in ways that fit how God made you.
You’ll be taken to a checkout page — that’s just how the account gets made. The Diocese has already covered the cost, so your total is $0. All you enter is an email address and a password.
Pick the Diocese of Dallas, then choose your parish from the list. Parishes are listed with their city, so you can tell apart parishes that share a name. Your home parish is where your results go, so choose the parish where you’d most like to be invited to serve.
Answer honestly — the way you actually are, not the way you think you should be. There are no wrong answers, and nothing to study for. If you need to stop partway through, you can pick up where you left off.
At the end, you’ll see a short set of questions from the Diocese of Dallas about how you’d like to take part in the renewal.
Your most likely charisms and your personalized report open right away and arrive by email. You can come back to them anytime by logging in at manypartsministries.com and clicking “Access Assessment Results.”
Your results and your answers to the Diocese’s questions are shared with a small, named group of people, so they can invite you into the life of your parish and the Diocese:
Yours to keep, and yours to come back to anytime.
Each parish has a few designated people with their own personal login. They see results for their own parish only.
The Diocese’s synod team sees results across all parishes, to help extend invitations into the work of renewal.
They’ll see your name and email address, your most likely charisms, and your answers to the Diocese’s questions. Many Parts Ministries staff can also see them, only to support you and keep the platform running. No one else sees them, and your data is never shared or sold.
Want your results removed? Email [email protected] and we’ll take care of it.

We offer this online charism assessment to give you a lot of valuable, personalized information to kickstart your charism discernment process. It’s not meant to be definitive, but it is a starting place to help you choose, discern, and ultimately commit to charisms in your own life. The assessment will help you narrow down the possibilities and find your most likely charisms, as well as get some personalized tips on how to test them out.
No. Your results are never a test you pass or fail, and taking the assessment isn’t an application for anything. They help your parish and the Diocese know whom to invite, and every invitation is yours to pray about and accept or decline.
Choose the parish you consider home — the one where you’d most like to be invited to serve. That parish’s administrators are the ones who will see your results.
College students at SMU, the University of Dallas, or UT Dallas will find their campus chapels on the list too.
That’s completely fine. Discovering your gifts is worth doing for its own sake, and the Diocese’s questions at the end give you room to say what level of involvement fits your life right now.
Yes, anyone 14 and older. Teens ages 14 to 20 automatically receive a version written for their age through this same link. The assessment isn’t available to anyone under 14.
Yes! Each person needs their own account with their own email address, so their results and report come to them.
The charism assessment may give you ideas about the charisms you are likely to have, but the next step in discernment is usually to “test,” or try using that charism for the building up of the Church, to see if it bears fruit. Does it bring you joy? Do others affirm you in this area? Does it feel disproportionately effective or fruitful in others’ lives? Your parish or the Diocese may follow up with you to suggest a few places you could test your charism.
Absolutely. You’re welcome to purchase a personal charism assessment at manypartsministries.com. Those results are your own and aren’t connected to any parish or diocese.
